I used to use Mailspring and loved it's combined inbox. Incoming messages for both of my email accounts would show in a combined inbox. I like Thunderbird and wish it had a combined inbox.Do we think it will ever happen?

Receiving the following message. Changed nothing. Just stopped working. All other portable devices working fine.

The RETR command did not succeed. Error retrieving a message. Mail server outlook.office365.com responded: Server Unavailable. 21

Has anyone seen this or have a solution? Thank you.

Thunderbird 128.11.0 ESR 64 bit on Windows 10 PC

When I take pics on my Droid phone and e-mail them as attachments using Yahoo! e-mail on my phone to my Thunderbird account on my PC I use at home, the filenames change.

They used to show up with the filenames as 'date stamps', ie 20250527_01433 or something like that, which is what they show up as on my phone - which is normal, but NOW they download to my PC as a sequential filename such as 1000007145 - something that makes no sense.

You can look at the Properties of the pics and those show the date/time taken, but it doesn't help me when I am trying to easily track pics taken by date/time.

Yes, I can manually change the filenames once I save them - which is a real PITA, but what changed? Is there some setting somewhere that got changed with an automatic update that I can't find?

How can I get back to having them download to my PC using the date/time stamp as filenames?

Any help is appreciated.

I open TB and everything is fine = about 6 accounts. At some point, all accounts stop showing emails in the right pane. The navigation pane still shows the email count in each account and folder. A message in the right pane says there is no emails to show. The only way to get it back is to close TB and restart it. What is happening and how to fix it????????? W11, TB 1.38.0.0 x64

I recently got a new PC and was able to download Thunderbird and all my old received emails to the new PC. None of my old "sent" emails that I kept on my old PC downloaded and I am not able to send emails using Thunderbird.

Today I started getting this message and I can no longer access new mail:

"The RETR command did not succeed. Error retrieving a message. Mail server outlook.office365.com responded: Server Unavailable. 21"

Does anybody know how I can fix this?

I'm unable to access any of my two email accounts. Within the past 12 months, I have donated to Mozilla three different times and each time my problems increased. I need help. SillySam@comcast.net

Hoping that someone can get me pointed in the right direction to sort out a problem I'm having.

I've been using Thunderbird successfully for a number of years on a few different PCs to access my email account. It worked just fine years ago with AT&T and more recently Frontier email servers. Several months ago Frontier discontinued their email service. But I had a "Free Email For Life" account which they automatically switched over to a Yahoo Email account which allowed me to continue using my long standing "@Frontier.com" address. The change over went pretty smoothly and Thunderbird was still working as expected. Until it didn't.

In the last month or two Thunderbird in two Windows machines will not connect to my Yahoo email account. I continually get messages indicating a "time out" issue when attempting to connect. But I can still access my email by logging directly into my Yahoo webmail account.

The two main Thunderbird installations, one on a Win 10 laptop and another on a Win 7 Pro desktop are the main problem areas with time-outs and no connection established. Oddly enough Thunderbird for Android seems to work just fine on my phone.

The only free tech help that Yahoo would provide was essentially to check my SMTP server settings, which I did again for probably the fourth or fifth time. I also changed my password which was a couple years old . . . just in case. But I'm still spinning my wheels.

Hopefully someone else has had a similar experience and can tell me what I may have overlooked. I don't want to switch to Gmail or any other server if I can avoid it. Yahoo offers their own 3rd party app but it seems a bit futzier and more invasive than Thunderbird. Somebody please point me in the right direction of where to dig in next.

yes, so the title gives the question.

when I start the thunderbird app on windows 10 laptop it starts to fetch 2000+ emails from google. Everytime even after letting it go through the process.

Its super slow and always reports its stuck at 2 out of 2000+ emails. Very strange.

I have let it run for 24 hours+ on one occation to get everything loaded. The loading status bar disappeared but it restarts everytime I open the app again.

Any idea why?

Hello, Not sure if my first post was published.

Over the last week non of my mails was sent to the SMTP server. I uninstalled the account to start over again.

Upon configuring the mailbox account, the MAPI step was successful.

However, configuring the SMTP server, I am receiving an error: Unexpected end of stream (view image) What is the solution?

What does this mean: "The account bl-dn10@comcast.net is being processed. Please wait until processing is complete to get messages." Can't get email in this account. Out of the blue.

Get message: Login to server smtp.mail.att.net with username failed thunderbird or

Unable to authenticate to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.mail.att.net. Please check the password and verify the 'Authentication method' in 'Account Settings | Outgoing server (SMTP)'.

Can send from my Gmail account though.

I'm using Thunderbird version 128.11.0esr on my Windows 11 desktop computer.

I have many email accounts in Thunderbird and Thunderbird automatically forwards email from some of the accounts.

Occasionally I will see an error message: "Send Message Error. Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: Error sending message for delivery... Please check the message and try again."

Can I trace this error back to determine which email account is causing the error?

First when I try to write an email I put the op name in the To: box but the contact list from my address book I imorted from my new outlook(I do not have 365)does not work -there is nothing. I need the simplest way to synchronize the address book with the To: when I send an email. 2 I'm confused about export and import. I always thought I import from something and then I export to something but it seems that Thunderbird commingles the two terms. I was trying to import from my outlook new to Thunderbird. Is it a matter of language or understanding? Thunderbird seems to work except for the above mentioned feature. Please explain? 5-29-25

I have been using Thunderbird for years and have never had any problems; unfortunately, from few days, every time I try to download my mail, thunderbird starts downloading all my 15,000 emails, even though they have already been downloaded and read. I am desperate... I don't know what to do. Please help me... thanks!
